Stage decor in 2026: fewer flowers, more light

Why decorators are moving budget from blooms to lighting, and how to brief them.

Dhaka's decorators are quietly telling couples the same thing: guests remember light more than flowers. A modest floral stage with well placed warm lighting reads more expensive than a floral ceiling under flat white tube lights.

When you brief your decorator, bring three references and one sentence that describes the feeling you want. 'Warm, close, candle lit' will get you further than a 40 photo Pinterest board.

Ask for a lighting plot, not just a stage render. Where will the photographers stand? Where does the couple enter? Good decorators answer these without being asked.
